📰 Millionaire teenager

Issue 1

Weather: Today is foggy in the morning with a high of 69. 🌫️

Welcome to the first newsletter. You'll find links to stories and things to do to be a better and more informed Summit County citizen.

We also want to share ways to help your neighbors and get help if you need it. So if you're an organization offering food or services, or you're seeking donations or volunteers, please let me know. My email address and cell are at the bottom of every email.

Each of these emails should take about three minutes to check each day. We publish at 6 a.m. weekdays.

OK, here we go!

1. If a teenager had several million dollars, this would be his house.

Here's your dose of real estate porn. Akron Life profiled a real estate developer in Silver Lake who owns a ridiculous house. There isn't much more context than that. It has a movie theater, luxury vehicles and a wall of guitars.

2. People shot each other near the Habitat for Humanity office

There's apparently a parking lot on Romig Road where people go after bars close down. Habitat's Summit County CEO says they always find broken glass on Monday morning when they come in to work. This time three people got shot. "We may to fence in our entire property just to maintain our safety."

3. It takes a village— I mean billionaire

It sucks that this kind of transformative investment in anti-poverty has to come from the whim of a private person, but here we are. Kudos to this particular billionaire for making an effort to fix America.

4. Avant-Garde Craft Show in Fairlawn on Nov. 5

This looks like a fun thing to do if you're into arts and crafts and supporting the people who make them. From the organization's website: "This event will feature artists and crafters selling their original handmade items. Admission is $3 to the public, children under 12 are free. A portion of proceeds will benefit the local non-profit, the Cleveland Animal Protective League"

5. Death on a Stick

I have no idea what this is, but it should be supported. If you go, tell me about it.
