📰 Where to vote
Issue 4

Weather: Today is partly cloudy with a high of 58. 🌤️
Welcome! In Akron Email Review you'll find links to local news and things to do to be a better Summit County citizen.
We also share ways to help your neighbors and get help if you need it. So if you're an organization offering food or services, or you're seeking donations or volunteers, please let me know. My email address and cell are at the bottom of every email.
Each of these emails should take about three minutes to check each day. We publish at 6 a.m. weekdays.
OK, here we go!
1. It's Election Day. Here's how to find your precinct and plan your ballot.
Just go to that page and enter your address. It'll tell you where to vote and show you what will be on your ballot.
2. Akron was 'plain ugly,' but then in the '90s some positive things started happening
"Akron was just plain ugly. Not only was there a lot of smoke in the sky, the streets weren’t very clean."
This is a really cool interview with a local historian who traces the roots of Akron's downtown revival. It involves some major infrastructure projects in the mid-1990s and The Black Keys.
3. Some people crashed into a gun store and stole 30 guns
ATF is offering $10,000 if you know anything about it. (Not that you would, obviously.)
4. Landlords can't let you die of CO poisoning anymore
At least they're not supposed to. If you haven't followed along, this Twitter thread explains what happened.
5. The University of Akron went to $15/hour
Some employees had been making $9.30/hour. That's $19,344 a year for full-time work. It's astonishing that's still legal. (The state minimum wage will go to $10.10 in January.)
